The food was fantastic and the service and smart casual atmosphere was superb. Unfortunately, I am giving it a rating of 3 stars for one reason only:
one of the waiters kept walking past us and snorting his phlegm in a loud manner. I have lived in Tokyo for 10 years so I am aware that unfortunately, some Japanese men do this. However, my friend who I was entertaining who was visiting from Canada did not. We ordered the chef tasting menu for 15,000 yen each or 150.00 dollars USD. We were at a Michilen star restaurant, not McDonald's. I spoke to the waiter serving us about the incident, I hope that he will speak with the "snorter." Completely groce.
The majority of doctors are congenial and efficient with some exceptions. My husband and I visited a female eye doctor(I won't use names)and she was EXTREMELY RUDE. I was also put on some medication by a gynecologist who neglected to tell me what ALL of the side effects were.
The front desk staff? Terrible. Yes, they are efficient but they are extremely surly.
Both my husband and I are going to change phone companies. The service at the Roppongi Branch is awful. Over the past year, they have decreased their staff. On the weekend our in the evening you will be waiting for over an hour.
The staff are very rude, perhaps this is because of the fact that they are overworked and understaffed.
The food and the view is fantastic. The lunch buffet is good for a ladies lunch. The waiters and management are friendly. However, the hostess that greets you at the door is much more attentive and friendly towards the Japanese ladies than she is towards the non-Japanese ladies(on the 3 occasions that I have had lunch here).
Update: They have know changed this restaurant into two restaurants: An American Grill and a French restaurant. We went to the American grill restaurant. It still has the same style buffet which is very tasty.
I am keeping the rating at 2.5 because the hostess did not say good-bye to us as we left. Also, we purchased a large bottle of pricey Pellegrino and we only drank half of it b/c the waiters had to be consistently reminded to fill up our glasses.
I have been going to this supermarket for over 8 years. It has the largest selection of import food and liquor in Tokyo. Overall, the staff are friendly as well. Unlike National Azabu in Hiro-o, you don't have to fight crowds in a small space to do your weekly 'big shop' because the place is huge.
Most of the interior goods such as furniture, curtains, and large accessories such as mirrors require the customer to wait up until six months. This is because they do not keep enough stock at their warehouse.
Forget being able to communicate in anything but Japanese even though it is a British chain. Even if they say they are able to speak English, they cannot perform more than basic greetings.
IDC furniture store has much more to offer an more importantly, you do not have to wait 6 months to receive your items.
The secretaries are immature and the one secretary that supposedly speaks English does not. Upon meeting the doctor, he told me that they did not have an English website nor would they consider getting one because his clinic is Japanese. He told me that if he were to help me, I would have to understand that his secretaries do not speak English and that his clinic is Japanese and not an American clinic (I am not American but he assumed that I was). He was very aggressive and immature in his demeanor. He did not portray himself in a manner considered to be professional and courteous, very hostile, it is quite evident that he does not like non-Japanese people. DO NOT GO HERE!
Very comfortable surroundings even though the club is at a temporary site (it will return to its original address in 2011). The food is of good quality and the restaurant staff are trained exceptionally well.
The swimming pool is unfortunately over-run by children and they have decided not to get an adult-only swimming pool at the new location. There are, however, adult only areas and children only areas which is very good.
Management is not particularly helpful if you have a complaint and even though the atmosphere portrays itself as `homey`, it is just a business like anywhere else....except for it being much more upscale than other businesses.
The place to be if you have an emergent situation. Red Cross is about taking care of people from all around the world. The nurses were professional and caretaking, the doctor was an expert in his field. The only down-side was the nutritionist who was overzealous, even going through my garbage to see what I was eating.
I have been going to this clinic since my major back surgery. The therapists are competent and professional. They also truly care about your recovery. I am happy to have found English speaking physical therapists in Japan.
A wonderful restaurant located in the Ritz Carlton. My husband and I had Teppanyaki and it was delicious. You are able to enjoy sushi and tempura as well. The food is nicely presented and the atmosphere is pleasant. It is a Michelin star 1 restaurant. The service is friendly as well. It is very expensive though.
My husband and I visited this dentist for several years. He was professional and efficient. However, his secretaries were sometimes inefficient due to a language barrier which was why we changed dentists.
I visited this place several times for a combination of acupuncture and massage. The massage itself was very good, however, I found the acupuncture to be quite uncomfortable. Also, I requested that they call me by my family name but they did not.
